Are you curious about Buddhism?  Would you like to deepen your understanding while sharing quality time with likeminded seekers?  Please join Soto Zen Buddhist priest Mark Nelson and Sweeping Heart Zen for our first Introduction to Buddhism 8-week book club.

The Book Club will meet at the Gloucester Unitarian Universalist Church on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30PM. The Book Club begins on Tuesday, August 15, 2017.  It ends on Tuesday, October 3, 2017.

We will read and discuss Walpola Rahula’s acclaimed introduction to Buddhism entitled What the Buddha Taught at the planned rate of one chapter a week.

If you plan to attend, please have the first chapter of this marvelous book read so we can dive right in at our first meeting.

Each chapter’s about 12 pages long.  Mark will facilitate. Our aim is to have a casual yet lively, non sectarian and ecumenical discussion as we enjoy both Walpola Rahula’s understanding of Buddhism, and each other.

This 8-week book club is free to the members of Sweeping Heart Zen.  The suggested non-member donation is $80.00 for this 8-week book club.  $10.00 at the door.  No one will be turned away based on ability to pay.
